Molinillo Market
An indoor municipal market in a protected Neo-Arabic building with 25 stalls selling fresh produce, fish and meat in the Centro district of Málaga.
Mercado del Molinillo is a covered municipal market in Málaga on Calle Salomón in the Centro district, open Monday to Saturday from 8am. The building was designed by Daniel Rubio Sánchez between 1922 and 1925 and is a declared Cultural Heritage Site with distinctive Neo-Arabic architecture: horseshoe arches, patterned brickwork, and tiled interiors that make it one of the city's more visually striking market halls. With 25 stalls across around 725 square metres, it serves the El Molinillo neighbourhood and draws visitors interested in both its food and its architecture.
What to buy
The market covers the fresh basics well: fruit and vegetables, meat and poultry, fish and seafood, cheese and dairy, and bread from local bakeries. The fish stalls are a particular draw, and there's a bar at the back of the hall where you can grab a coffee or tapas alongside the regular shoppers. The market also runs an online shopping and home delivery service throughout Málaga. Payment by cash, contactless or mobile is accepted at the stalls.
