San Isidro is the biggest of the three at 70 stalls, and the range across all three covers fresh fruits and vegetables, meat and poultry, fish and seafood, cheese and dairy, and bread and bakery, alongside clothing and textiles, footwear and leather, antiques and handicrafts.

Arrive close to 8am, when the markets open, to get the best of the fresh produce before the midday heat sets in. Stalls start packing up as the 2pm close approaches, so treat that as the end of the useful window rather than a strict cutoff. Cash is the safer bet at these smaller markets, where not every stall takes a card.

Town Centre is the practical base for market visits, close enough to reach an 8am opening on foot with local shops and restaurants nearby. In summer, San José is a popular alternative with a wider choice of accommodation, though it's a drive rather than a walk to the Wednesday and Sunday markets in town.
