Privacy policy

This page explains what this site collects and why. It is written to match what the site actually does.

What we collect

• Market reviews. When you submit a review you provide a name, an optional email address, a rating and your text. The name, rating and text are published once approved; the email address is not published and is used only to reply to you about the review.
• Market and photo submissions. If you suggest a market or send a photo, we receive what you type into the form and any photo you attach, along with the name and email you choose to give.
• Saved markets. Your saved list is stored in your own browser using localStorage. It never reaches our servers and we cannot see it.
• Location. The markets near me page asks your browser for your location. It is used in your browser to sort markets by distance and is not stored by us.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

Third parties

Submission emails are delivered through Resend. The site is hosted on Vercel, whose servers log requests as part of running the service. Fonts are served by Google Fonts. We use Stay22 to turn accommodation and travel links into affiliate links. Its script runs on every page and stores two identifiers in your browser's local storage (sid22 and hip22) so a later booking can be credited back here; see the cookie policy for detail. Following such a link then takes you to a booking or travel partner, who may set their own cookies. See the cookie policy.

Retention and removal

Reviews and submissions are kept for as long as the listing they relate to is published. To have a review, a submission or an email address removed, write to info@marketsinspain.com and it will be deleted.

Your rights

If you are in the EU or UK you have the right to access, correct, or erase the personal data we hold about you, and to object to its processing. Email info@marketsinspain.com to exercise any of these.
