Arrive early in the morning, ideally by 9am, to find the best selection of fresh produce before the midday heat picks up. Markets typically finish by 2pm, so plan your visit accordingly. Bring cash, as many stall holders at smaller markets may not accept cards.

Most stalls set up within walking distance of the centre, so basing yourself in Town Centre keeps you close to both the Saturday and Sunday markets and the riverside streets along the Guadiana. If you'd rather stay somewhere quieter, the guesthouses around Barrio de la Villa, the old upper quarter, are a short walk downhill from the stalls.
