Where to stay in Castro-Urdiales
Staying in the Old Town puts you within easy walking distance of the harbour market and the weekly street market around the medieval centre. The streets here are compact, so you won't need a car once you've arrived.

The Castro-Urdiales Street Market is the largest of the three, with around 25 stalls running every week on Calle Leonardo Rucabado from 9:30 to 14:00. Known locally as "los jueveros", it covers clothing, footwear, fresh fruit and vegetables, and handicrafts. The market relocated to this site in 2018 from Plaza Hermandad de las Marismas.
The Castro-Urdiales Maritime Market runs weekly outdoors and brings together handicrafts, fish and seafood, and prepared foods. Stall numbers are not fixed, but its focus on locally caught seafood gives it a distinct character from the Thursday market. It is the most direct connection to the town's working fishing port.
The Castro-Urdiales Christmas Market operates weekly during the festive season with 12 stalls selling handicrafts, jewellery, bread and pastries, and prepared foods.
