Markets in Segovia

Staying in the old town puts you within easy walking distance of Segovia's markets and most of its main sights. Old Town is the obvious base, and options like Hotel Infanta Isabel sit right on the Plaza Mayor, as central as it gets.

If you want something quieter, Parador de Segovia sits just outside the historic centre with great views back over the city, and it's still only a short drive or taxi ride to the market areas.

The five street markets are what give the city its variety. Between them they cover fresh fruit and vegetables, organic products, cheese, olive oil, clothing and footwear, flowers, secondhand books and antiques, so what you find depends on which day you are in town. They are outdoor and weekly, and they pack down by about 2pm.

Sunday is the quietest day here with a single market trading, Wednesday and Friday have one apiece, and Tuesday and Thursday two.
