Markets in Guadalajara give you a taste of everyday life in this Castile-La Mancha capital. The city sits along the Henares river valley northeast of Madrid and has one covered municipal market plus two weekly open-air street markets.

The Mercado de Abastos on Plaza Virgen de la Antigua is the go-to spot for fresh produce, meat, fish, cheese and bakery goods. It's open six days a week with around 30 stalls. For street shopping, the Tuesday market near Plaza de Toros sells clothing, textiles and fresh fruit, while the Saturday market on Calle la Tajera focuses on clothing, handicrafts and jewellery.
