Street Markets in Calafell

The Tuesday market on Passeig de la Unió is the food market of the three, trading indoors with fresh fruit and vegetables, fish and seafood, meat and poultry, and cheese and dairy. The Friday market in Segur de Calafell is the biggest at 18 stalls and the broadest in range, adding clothing and textiles, footwear and leather, flowers and plants, and jewellery to the food counters. The medieval market at the Castell de la Santa Creu is different again: handicrafts, jewellery, bread and baking, and prepared food to eat where you stand.

The two shopping markets are morning affairs, both finishing at 2pm, with Segur de Calafell opening at 8am on the Passeig Marítim and Plaça del Port and the Tuesday market at 9am. The medieval market runs 10am to 9pm, so it is the one to plan an evening around. The Tuesday market is wheelchair accessible.

Calafell Centre puts you within walking distance of the Tuesday market and the castle, which matters if you would rather not move a car, while Calafell Platja is quieter and a short hop in. Segur de Calafell is the base to pick if the 18-stall Friday market is the reason for the trip, since it opens at 8am.
