Street Markets in Grau de Castelló

None of the three is a farmers market. The Friday market is the general one, 45 stalls of clothing and textiles, footwear and leather, handicrafts, jewellery, books and magazines, spread across the square in the open air. The Sol Market is an evening market at the port with 35 stalls leaning towards prepared food, handicrafts and jewellery. The smallest, the 15-stall Grao de Castellón Christmas Market at Jardines del Puerto, runs in November and December only, Friday to Sunday from 9am to 2pm, with bakery goods and prepared food alongside the crafts.

Get to the Friday market by 8am if you want the square before the heat, since it packs up at 2pm sharp. It is the only one of the three recorded as wheelchair accessible, and the only one that lists mobile payment alongside cash, so bring notes for the other two. The Sol Market is the opposite trip: turn up after dinner, walk the port and expect stalls open past midnight. Castelló city council publishes its own listing for the Sol Market if you want to confirm the current dates before travelling.

Stay in the port district itself and all three markets are on foot: El Grao Seafront puts you closest to PortCastelló and the Jardines del Puerto, which matters most for the Sol Market, since it does not finish until 12.30am and you will not want a drive afterwards. For a shorter walk to the beach and the commercial streets, look at rooms around Passeig Marítim. A car is useful for reaching other Castellón markets but not for these three.
