Colón Market

The market was designed by architect Francisco Mora Berenguer and opened in 1916 in the Valencian Art Nouveau style. It's a declared national monument, known for its cast-iron structure, decorative ceramic mosaics depicting rural Valencian scenes, and a glass roof that fills the 3,500 m² hall with natural light. After falling into decline the building closed in 1985, then was fully restored and reopened in 2003. The restoration preserved the original ironwork and tilework while adapting the space for contemporary use.

The 30 stalls cover a full range of fresh produce: fruit, vegetables, meat, poultry, fish, seafood, cheese, dairy, bread, and pastries. Prepared food stalls and specialty coffee make it easy to grab breakfast or a light lunch on the go. The food court and on-site restaurants mean you can also sit down for something more substantial, from traditional horchata and fartons to contemporary dishes. Most stalls accept contactless and mobile payments alongside cash and cards.

The market sits at Carrer de Jorge Juan 19 in Valencia's L'Eixample district. Metro lines 3 and 5 stop at Colón station, a short walk away, and several bus lines pass through the surrounding streets. Underground parking with 174 spaces is available directly beneath the building.
