Rojas Clemente Market

The market was built in 1963 and inaugurated on 5 December of that year, constructed in just five months by architects Gelabert and Ribas. It originally housed around 200 vendors and has since settled into a much smaller but still active neighbourhood market.

It sits close to the Torres de Quart and the IVAM contemporary art museum, making it easy to combine with a walk through this part of the old city. It is one of many venues in Valencia's municipal market network, which ranges from small neighbourhood halls like this one to the grand Mercado Central.

The five stalls cover the daily essentials: fresh fruit and vegetables, fish and seafood, meat and poultry, and cheese and dairy. An adjacent restaurant sits next to the market if you want to eat after shopping.

The market is at Pl. de Rojas Clemente, Extramurs, 46008 Valencia, close to the Torres de Quart and within easy walking distance of the historic city centre. Several EMT Valencia bus routes serve the surrounding streets.
