Street Markets in La Cala de Mijas

The mix here is split between produce and the holiday-coast trade. Fresh fruit and vegetables, bread and bakery, organic produce and prepared food cover the eating side, while clothing and textiles, footwear and leather, jewellery, handicrafts and antiques fill the longer rows. Calypso Street Market is the biggest of the three at 30 stalls, so it carries the widest spread of the lot.

Come before 10am if you want the produce stalls at their best and the shade still on your side of the street. Everything winds down towards 2pm, and stalls start clearing before then, so a 1.30pm arrival is a wasted trip. Carry cash, since card acceptance varies from one trader to the next.
