Street Markets in Torre del Mar

Saturday and Sunday are the fullest days, with three of the four markets trading on each, and Thursday comes next with two. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday have one apiece, which makes Friday the quietest trading day in town. All four sit within Torre del Mar itself, so a weekend visit covers three on foot. The commonest hours across these four markets are 18:00 to 00:00, which is unusual for Andalusian street markets and the single most useful thing to know here. Shopping is an after-dinner activity rather than an early-morning one, so a day on the beach costs you nothing. Morning markets do exist in the mix, so read the timetable as four separate schedules rather than one town-wide opening time.

Across the four you'll find fresh fruit and vegetables, cheese and dairy, spices and herbs, prepared foods, organic produce, clothing and textiles, handicrafts and jewellery. The biggest is the Axarquía Artisan Cheese & Wine Market at 50 stalls, the one to aim for if you are shopping to take something home.

All four markets sit inside the town and none of them needs a car. Paseo Marítimo puts you on the seafront within walking distance of every one, and Centro sits closer to the market sites themselves. Book a Saturday or Sunday night for the three-market days; with stalls trading to midnight there is no need for an early start.
