Arenal Market
A compact indoor market in Seville's historic centre, Mercado del Arenal sits next to La Maestranza bullring with 25 stalls selling fresh fish, meat, fruit, and bread.
Mercado del Arenal is a covered municipal market in Seville's Casco Antiguo neighbourhood, on Calle Pastor y Landero next to the La Maestranza bullring. Built in 1947 by architect Juan Talavera y Heredia, it's recognisable by its glass roof and colonnaded exterior. With 25 stalls, it's one of the smaller municipal markets in Seville, but serves the surrounding neighbourhood six days a week with daily fresh produce. The market opens Monday to Saturday from 9am, with Monday closing earlier in the evening and the rest of the week staying open later.
What to buy
The stalls cover the essentials: fresh fish and seafood, meat and poultry, fruit, vegetables, and bread. It's a practical stop for picking up fresh produce or grabbing a morning bite at one of the small bars inside. Cash and mobile payments are both accepted.
