Markets in the Province of Seville

Andalusia, Spain · 158 markets across 58 cities

158 markets across 58 cities Verified information

Seville province has 158 markets across 58 towns and cities, and 141 of them are street markets that set up for a few hours and pack away again. The other 17 are municipal halls with fixed stalls and fishmongers who are there six days a week. That split changes how you plan: a municipal market rewards turning up on a whim, a street market rewards checking the day first.

The city of Seville accounts for 39 on its own. After that the numbers drop away quickly, to five each in Cazalla de la Sierra, Las Navas de la Concepción and Estepa, and four each in El Pedroso, La Rinconada, Espartinas and San José de la Rinconada. The small Sierra Norte towns punch above their size here, and a morning that takes in Cazalla de la Sierra and El Pedroso is a realistic drive rather than an expedition.

Most markets in the province run 09:00 to 14:00, the commonest pattern by a clear margin. Arrive at nine and you get the full run of stalls; arrive at half past one and you will watch tables come down around you. Seville sits inside the wider Andalusian market network, where the mid-morning rhythm is much the same.
