Municipal Markets in Albacete

Street markets and flea market in Albacete

The Albacete Street Market takes over the Recinto Ferial fairgrounds every Tuesday morning, with around 550 stalls selling everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to clothing and household goods. On Sundays, the Albacete Flea Market sets up on Plaza Mayor with about 30 stalls of antiques, books, handicrafts, and second-hand finds.

If you're visiting in June, the Medieval Market of Albacete fills the fairgrounds with over 100 artisan stalls selling pottery, leather goods, jewellery, and traditional food.

About markets in Albacete

Markets in Albacete range from a large municipal food hall to one of the biggest weekly street markets in Castile-La Mancha. The city sits on the plains of La Mancha, and its markets reflect the region's strong agricultural traditions, with stalls full of local cheeses, olive oil, wines, and Manchegan produce.

Albacete has four markets to explore: one covered municipal market open six days a week, two regular street markets, and a seasonal medieval market held each June.

Villacerrada Market

The Villacerrada Market is the main municipal food hall and the oldest in Castile-La Mancha. It occupies a two-floor building on Calle Baños in the city centre, with 42 stalls selling fresh produce, meat, fish, cheese, and baked goods. You can check their hours and stall directory on the Mercado de Villacerrada website.

Exploring the province

The Albacete province has several other towns with their own markets. Hellín and Villarrobledo are both worth checking out if you're spending time in the area.
