Sagrada Família Market

The market traces its roots to 1944, when a street market from Carrer Sicília relocated to the former premises of a General Motors factory on Carrer de Padilla. The building was substantially renovated and reopened in 1993, and has had periodic updates since.

The stalls cover all the essentials: seasonal fruit and vegetables, meat and poultry, fresh fish and seafood, artisan cheeses, bread, and prepared foods. There's a food court on site if you want to eat before or after shopping. It's a practical, unpretentious market geared to daily grocery shopping rather than tourism.

The market is at C/ de Padilla, 255 in Eixample, easily reached by metro: Sagrada Família station (Lines 2 and 5) is a short walk away. Bus lines 19, 33, 34, B24, D50, H10, and V21 all serve the area.
