Markets in the Province of Barcelona

Catalonia, Spain · 472 markets across 121 cities

472 markets across 121 cities Verified information

We have 472 markets on record across Barcelona province, spread over 122 towns and cities. The split matters when you are planning: 107 are municipal markets trading from a permanent hall, usually open several days a week, while 365 are street markets that set up on a fixed day and give you one morning and no second chance.

Saturday is the day to aim for, with 222 markets trading, roughly twice the 97 that trade on a Sunday. Midweek is steadier than you might expect, with 149 markets on a Wednesday, 149 on a Friday, 140 on a Thursday and 133 on a Tuesday. Monday is the thinnest weekday at 101. Most markets here open at 08:00 and finish by 14:00, so a market visit is a morning, not an afternoon.

Barcelona city itself accounts for 61 of the markets, by some distance the largest concentration, and the numbers drop sharply after it. If you are basing yourself outside the city, the larger towns in the town listings give you the most choice within a short train ride.

We have a confirmed trading day for 441 of the 472 markets. The remaining 31 we have not been able to verify, so check each market's own page before travelling for one of those. For the wider region, see our guide to markets in Catalonia.
