Municipal Markets in Sant Adrià de Besòs

There is no trading on Monday or Sunday, which catches people out more often than anything else here. Tuesday is the first trading day of the week and Saturday the last, and every trading day runs to the same 2pm close, so the pattern is easy to remember once you know it.

Morning is the whole of the market's day. The doors open at 8am and there is no afternoon session, which means an arrival much after midday leaves you an hour or so before stalls start packing down. An early start gives you the fullest counters and the company of local shoppers buying for that day's meals.

Sant Adrià de Besòs sits directly on the Barcelona city boundary, so a single market visit here is usually part of a longer morning rather than the whole of it. Staying in the Poblenou neighbourhood puts you a short metro ride or walk from the market, at lower rates than central Barcelona. For something closer still, look for a room in Sant Adrià de Besòs centre, within walking distance of the stalls.
