Markets in Baeza
Jaen, Andalusia
Markets in Baeza include a traditional indoor food market and a weekly street market in this UNESCO World Heritage city in Jaén province. With just two markets, Baeza keeps things compact and easy to explore on foot between the Renaissance plazas.
The Baeza Food Market (Mercado de Abastos) on Calle San Francisco dates back to the 1950s and features a striking colonnaded facade with Tuscan columns. Inside you'll find around 25 stalls selling fresh produce, meat, fish, bread and locally pressed olive oil from the surrounding Guadalquivir valley. It opens Monday to Saturday from 9am. On Tuesdays, the Baeza Street Market sets up along Calle Diego de Hoces from 8am to 1:30pm, with stalls selling clothing, footwear, leather goods and handicrafts.
You can find more about the market building and other attractions on the Baeza tourism website. Nearby Úbeda and Linares both have their own markets worth checking out.
