Markets in Valladolid
Valladolid, Castile and León
Markets in Valladolid cover the city well, with five municipal food halls and a weekly open-air market. The capital of Castile and León has a strong tradition of neighbourhood markets where locals shop for fresh produce from the surrounding Pisuerga river valley.
The best known is Mercado del Val, an elegant 19th-century iron-framed hall on Calle Sandoval with around 30 stalls selling meat, fish, cheese and baked goods. For fruit and vegetables, head to La Marquesina on Plaza España. The La Rondilla, El Campillo and Las Delicias markets each serve their own barrio with a similar range of fresh food. On Sundays, the Valladolid Street Market takes over with 75 stalls of clothing, leather goods and handicrafts.
You can find official opening hours and details for all five municipal markets on the Valladolid city council website.
