Xaló Market
Weekly Saturday rastro in Xaló (Jalón), Alicante, with antiques, bric-a-brac, jewellery and handicrafts from 9am to 2pm. One of the best-known flea markets on the Costa Blanca.
Xaló Market is one of the Costa Blanca's best-known Saturday rastros, setting up along the CV-750 road in Xaló, in the heart of the Jalón Valley, Alicante. Around 25 stalls run every Saturday from 9am to 2pm, drawing browsers and bargain hunters from across the region for antiques, bric-a-brac, jewellery and handicrafts. Entry is free. Stalls begin packing away around 1:30pm, so arrive early for the best picks. Bring cash. Most stalls are cash only.
On the first Saturday of each month, the Mercat de la Terra also sets up nearby, where local producers from the Jalón Valley sell wine, mistela, olive oil, seasonal vegetables, cheese and artisan bread. The Xaló town council page has the latest details on both markets.
What you'll find
The street markets in Xaló are anchored by this rastro, which stretches along the riverside with stalls selling antique furniture, vintage clothing, fossils and minerals, ornaments and collectibles alongside jewellery and handicrafts. You'll also find the occasional piece of antique agricultural machinery. Clothing and textiles round out the mix.
On the first Saturday of each month, the Mercat de la Terra adds a fresh-produce side: local wines and mistela from the Jalón Valley, olive oil, cheese, artisan bread and seasonal fruit and veg from nearby farms.
