Xaló Street Market

Xaló Street Market operates every Saturday from 8am to 2pm along the riverside near the tourist office on the west side of the village. With 200 to 250 stalls, this is one of the most popular weekend markets in inland Alicante province.

The market focuses on antiques, vintage furniture, household goods, and antique agricultural machinery rather than typical tourist goods. Vendors maintain quality standards above average flea market levels, making it worth the drive from coastal towns.

You'll find fossils, minerals, Spanish dresses, handcrafted items, and unique collectibles spread across the stalls. Local products include olive oil, wines, and cured meats from the surrounding wine-growing region.

Bargaining is expected and prices are negotiable at most stalls. Arriving early gives you the best selection, though quality items remain throughout the morning.

Xaló's wine heritage adds character to market day, with Bodegas Xaló located directly opposite the market area. Local wines sell for just a few euros per liter at nearby shops.

Xaló sits about 20 minutes inland from Calpe via the N-332 and CV-750 roads. No public transport runs from the coast, so driving is necessary.

Extra parking lots operate on market days for a fee, managed by local landowners. Free street parking is limited, so plan to pay for convenient parking near the market area.

The village connects to other inland towns through the CV-715 road network. Dénia is the closest major town at 15 kilometers away.
