Central Market of Zaragoza

Declared a National Historic Monument, the building is one of the finest examples of iron architecture in Aragon. Its rectangular floor plan features three naves, the central one rising higher than the flanking aisles. After a full renovation between 2018 and 2019, it reopened in 2020 with the original structure carefully restored.

The market sits at the heart of Zaragoza's municipal market network. It accepts cash, contactless and mobile payments, and has wheelchair-accessible entrances throughout.

The 75 stalls cover the full range of fresh food: fruit and vegetables, meat and poultry, fish and seafood, cheese and dairy, and bread and bakery products. You'll also find stalls serving tapas and drinks inside the hall, so it's a good stop for a bite to eat while you shop. For fresh produce in a neighbourhood setting, the Mercado Delicias is another option across the city.

The market is at Avenida de César Augusto, 110, in Zaragoza's Casco Antiguo. Several city bus lines stop nearby, and the historic centre is walkable from most hotels in the city. Paid parking is available in the surrounding streets.
