Markets in Alfafar
Valencia, Valencian Community
Alfafar has four markets spread across the town and its Orba neighbourhood, giving visitors a practical mix of fresh food shopping and open-air street stalls. The Orba market scene alone accounts for three of those four, with separate weekly events running on different days. Alfafar sits in the l'Horta Sud comarca, part of the Valencia province, and its market offer reflects the area's strong tradition of local food and community trade. Nearby Catarroja also has street markets if you want to combine trips.

Where to stay in Alfafar
Alfafar is a small town just south of Valencia city, so your best bet is to stay close to the action in Town Centre or base yourself in nearby Valencia and make the short trip out. The connections are easy and you won't need long to explore what's on offer here.
If you'd prefer to be right on the doorstep, look for accommodation along Avenida de Gavina, which puts you within easy reach of the local markets. Staying in Valencia itself also gives you far more hotel options and the chance to combine your visit with everything the city has to offer.
Tours & Activities in Alfafar
Municipal markets in Alfafar
The Alfafar Municipal Market on Carrer Julio Colomer is the town's main indoor food hall, with around 25 stalls running Monday to Saturday from 7am. Stalls cover the core essentials: fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and poultry, fish and seafood, and cheese and dairy. The building has a distinctive semicircular structure with reinforced concrete beams and has been renovated in recent years. It is the most reliable daily option for fresh produce in Alfafar.
Street markets in Alfafar
The Alfafar Weekly Market is the largest street market in town, with around 40 outdoor stalls selling clothing, footwear, fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, and cheese and dairy. It runs weekly and is the best option if you want a broader mix of food and non-food goods in one visit.
The Orba Neighbourhood Street Market brings together about 30 stalls focused on clothing, footwear, and handicrafts, and also runs weekly outdoors. A second Orba market, the Orba Neighbourhood Market, operates separately with 25 stalls covering clothing, handicrafts, footwear, and flowers and plants. Both are held in the Orba area and offer a more neighbourhood feel than the larger weekly market.
