Markets in Carmona

Carmona is small enough that staying in or near the historic centre puts you within walking distance of both markets. The Old Town is your best base, with the markets, main square, and sights all close by. For something with a bit of character, Parador de Carmona is a stunning option inside a medieval castle, and well worth it if it fits your budget.

The Carmona Weekly Market is an outdoor street market that runs once a week with stalls selling clothing, footwear and prepared foods. Stall numbers are not officially listed, but it draws traders from across the comarca and is the practical stop for everyday goods rather than groceries.

Monday is when Carmona is busiest for shopping, with both of the town's markets trading. Outdoor markets in Andalusia occasionally shift for public holidays or town events, so check before making a special trip.

Plaza de Abastos Carmona is the town's only covered market, housed in a neoclassical building on Calle Domínguez de la Haza that dates to 1842. It was built on the site of a former Dominican monastery, and its rectangular hall is surrounded by four porticoed galleries containing 25 stalls.

Produce from the surrounding farmland dominates: fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and poultry, fish and seafood, cheese and dairy, and bread and pastries.
