Where to stay in Altzaga
Altzaga is a very small village in Biscay, so accommodation options within the village itself are extremely limited. Your best bet is to stay in nearby Bilbao, where you'll find plenty of hotels and easy access by road, or look at options in the surrounding Duranguesado area. Duranguesado makes a practical base if you want to stay closer to the village.
For Bilbao, Casco Viejo puts you close to good transport links and plenty of places to eat after a day exploring the markets.

Street markets in Altzaga
The Erandio Street Market is Altzaga's only market, held every Monday from 08:00. Its 25 stalls focus on everyday clothing, footwear, and handmade items, drawing shoppers from across the Erandio municipality. The market is wheelchair accessible, pet friendly, and runs on a cash-first basis, so it's worth coming prepared.
For more market options nearby, the markets in Bilbao page covers the wider range of markets available in the provincial capital, just a short distance along the NerviΓ³n estuary.
