Badalona's oldest covered market, built in 1926 in the Progrés district. Fifteen stalls sell fresh produce, meat, fish, cheese and bread Monday to Saturday from 7am.

Torner Municipal Market, known locally as Plaça Nova, is Badalona's oldest covered market. Built in 1926 in the Progrés neighbourhood and designed by municipal architect Josep Fradera i Botey, the iron-frame building covers 1,650 square metres and is listed as a cultural asset of local interest. It opens Monday to Saturday from 7am, with Fridays extended until 7pm. You'll find it at Carrer de Güell i Ferrer in Badalona.

About Torner Municipal Market

The market's 15 stalls carry fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and poultry, fish and seafood, cheese and dairy, and freshly baked bread. Vendors know their regulars and service is personal. The building accepts cash, contactless, and mobile payments and is fully wheelchair accessible.

Torner is one of four municipal markets in Badalona, each serving a different neighbourhood across the city. The building is currently undergoing a major renovation to restore the century-old ironwork structure.

What to buy at Torner Municipal Market

Across the 15 active stalls you'll find seasonal produce, fresh fish and seafood, butchered meats, local cheeses, and bakery items. The range is focused: this is a neighbourhood market for daily shopping, with the freshest fish and produce arriving early in the morning.
