Sant Salvador Municipal Market

The market opened in 1983 and was comprehensively renovated in 2001, when its current layout of food stalls alongside a self-service supermarket was established, with further modernisation in 2014. It is one of two municipal markets in Vilafranca del Penedès, each serving a different part of town. On Tuesday mornings, a non-sedentary market also sets up in the same space.

The stalls cover the full range of daily fresh food: seasonal fruit and vegetables, meat and poultry, fish and seafood, cheese and dairy, and freshly baked bread. Payment is easier here than at an open-air market, with stalls taking cash, contactless cards and mobile payments.
