Planning a trip to Spain? Here are the tools I use and recommend:
- π Travel insurance >> SafetyWing β flexible medical and trip cover from $56/month.
- π Buses & trains >> Omio β compare routes and prices across Spain in one search.
- π Car hire >> Discover Cars β compare prices from local and international rental companies.
- π eSIM for Spain >> YeSim β affordable data eSIMs that activate before you land.

Where to stay in La Canya
La Canya is a small rural village in the Garrotxa region, so accommodation options within the village itself are very limited. Staying in nearby Vall de Bianya puts you close to the local area and gives you easy access to the village, while Olot is the main town nearby and offers a broader choice of hotels, restaurants, and transport links.
If you want a comfortable base with more amenities, Olot is the practical choice and the drive to La Canya takes just a few minutes. Either way, having a car will make your visit much easier given how rural the setting is.

Street markets in La Canya
The La Canya Weekly Market of San Juan las Fuentes sets up along the Carretera de Sant Pau de Seguries every Saturday from 08:00 to 14:00. Around 25 stalls offer fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, bread and pastries, clothing, and flowers and plants. It operates indoors and draws locals from across the Garrotxa area. If you are exploring the region around Olot, it makes a practical morning stop before continuing through the comarca.
