L'Estartit Summer Market sets up on Plaça de l'Església every Saturday from 5pm to 10pm through June, July and August, in the seaside part of Torroella de Montgrí on the Girona coast. It is an evening market rather than a morning one, and it runs only in those three months. Turn up on a Saturday in May or September and the square will be empty.
What you'll find at L'Estartit Summer Market
Three things fill the stalls: handicrafts, clothing and textiles, and prepared food. The food stalls are the reason the 5pm start matters, since you can eat there rather than shop and leave. Bring cash. Card acceptance is not confirmed at any of the stalls.
Where to stay in Torroella de Montgrí
L'Estartit is the obvious base if you want to roll out of bed and straight to the market. Staying L'Estartit puts you right on the seafront with easy walking access to the summer stalls.
If you prefer a quieter stay, the medieval town centre of Torroella de Montgrí is just a few kilometres inland and well connected by road. It's a great option if you're combining the market with a visit to the town's weekly Thursday market too.
