Cedeira Feirón

Fish and seafood stalls are the reason most people walk down, in a town that fishes the ría. Alongside them you'll find fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and poultry, and traders selling clothing and textiles, footwear and leather goods, which is what makes this a general market rather than a food market. Fifty stalls is enough to walk twice before deciding, and everything packs away by two.

Cedeira is a small town, so you won't find big hotel chains here, but staying close to the waterfront or the old town puts you within easy walking distance of the market. Town Centre is your best bet for a central base, with guesthouses and small hotels a short stroll from where the action is.

If you prefer a bit more comfort, Ría de Cedeira has some lovely options with sea views that make the stay feel like a proper getaway. Book ahead if you're visiting on market day, as this is a popular corner of Galicia and rooms fill up quickly.

The market runs along Paseo Marítimo, the promenade on the town's waterfront, so it is a walk of a few minutes from anywhere in central Cedeira. It is entirely open-air, with no covered hall to shelter in if the Atlantic weather turns.
