Oropesa del Mar Maritime Market

Four trading days is unusual for a Spanish street market, where one morning a week is the norm, and it changes what this one is for: it works as a regular shopping stop rather than a weekly event you plan around. It is entirely open air, with no roof and no indoor hall, and the Explanada is a broad open space next to the bullring, so you can walk the full run of stalls in a single pass.

Fish and seafood are the core of it, sold across the morning until the 2pm close. Alongside them are handmade jewellery and local handicrafts, plus prepared foods if you want something to eat on the spot rather than carry home.

Staying near the seafront keeps the market within walking distance. Marina d'Or is the obvious choice, with plenty of accommodation a short walk away, and Playa de la Concha is another good base if you want the beach as well. If you prefer something more central, Hotel Neptuno Oropesa del Mar keeps you close to the waterfront.
