Arenal Street Market

The flower market is the main draw. Florists display everything from fresh-cut roses and sunflowers to succulents and herb plants. Next to the flowers, you'll find fresh fruits and vegetables, local Basque cheese, bread and bakery goods.

The other half is given over to antiques and handicrafts: out-of-print books, old records, stamps, coins and handmade pieces from local artisans. The collectibles end is the part worth a slow browse.

The market sets up on Paseo del Arenal, a five-minute walk from Casco Viejo metro station (lines 1 and 2). Several Bilbobus routes stop nearby, including lines 03, 26, 30, 40, 56, 58, 71, 72 and 75. Look for stops near Plaza Arriaga or the city hall.

The promenade is flat and wheelchair accessible, with wide aisles between the stalls, public toilets and benches close by, and dogs are welcome. If driving, street parking is limited on Sundays; the Arenal and Plaza Nueva underground car parks are both within walking distance.
