Hondarribia Brocante and Collectibles Fair

Three things fill the stalls: antiques, handicrafts and jewellery. The brocante side is what people come for, and it draws collectors along with browsers happy to spend a Sunday morning working down the promenade. The handicraft and jewellery stalls sit alongside them, so it is worth a walk from one end to the other before deciding.

An 8am start is early for a Sunday, and it is the dealers' hour: the pieces worth having tend to move first. By mid afternoon the stalls are coming down, so 3pm is a deadline rather than a rough guide.

Hondarribia is a small town, so staying in the Old Town puts you right in the heart of things, with the market just a short walk away. The Parador de Hondarribia is a stunning option inside a medieval castle if you want something special, or try the Hotel Obispo for a more boutique feel in a historic setting.

If you prefer a quieter base, the marina area is calm and walkable, and you can easily reach the fair on foot from anywhere in town.

The fair runs the length of Paseo del Puerto Deportivo, beside the marina. Hondarribia is small enough to cross on foot, so the promenade is a short walk from the old walled quarter and from the bus stops in the centre. Dates and any changes are posted on the town's official page.
