Girona Collectibles and Antiques Market

Two things fill the tables: antiques, and second-hand books and magazines. Its Catalan name, Mercat d'intercanvi de productes de col·leccionisme, describes what it is better than the English one does, an exchange market for collectors, where a good deal of what is on a table is there to be swapped as much as sold. Expect dealers and regulars who know exactly what they are looking for, and three hours to find yours.

Staying in Girona's old town puts you closest to the antiques market and lets you explore the medieval streets on foot. Try Hotel Historic for a characterful base, or Barri Vell if you want to browse a range of smaller guesthouses and apartments within easy walking distance.
