Nigrán Sunday Market

The stalls are set out in the open along Rúa Cidade de Vigo and packed away again by 6pm. At 25 pitches it is a market you can walk end to end in half an hour, then go round a second time for whatever you were undecided about. Bring euros: stalls take cash only.

Clothing and textiles account for most of the pitches, with footwear and leather goods alongside them, so this is the market for a pair of shoes, a jacket or a stack of cheap t-shirts rather than for the week's groceries. Handicraft stalls fill out the rest, and there are books and magazines to sift through.

Staying near the seafront at Playa de Patos puts the beach and the Sunday stalls within easy reach of each other. Nigrán Centro is the more practical base if you want to walk to Rúa Cidade de Vigo rather than drive.

The market runs along Rúa Cidade de Vigo, at number 2, in central Nigrán. There is parking on site, which is the simplest way to arrive if you are driving down the coast for the afternoon.
