Markets in Fuente-Álamo

Fuente-Álamo is a small village, so accommodation locally is limited. Staying in the town centre puts you within walking distance of the market area and the village's main streets.

If you prefer more choice, the city of Albacete is the most practical base, with a good range of hotels and straightforward road access for a morning visit.

The three street markets pull in different directions. The Saturday weekly market is the general one, with clothing, footwear, fresh fruit and vegetables, and meat and poultry, the kind of open-air trading most people picture when they think of a Spanish mercadillo. The Thursday street market is smaller, around 15 stalls, and sticks to clothing, textiles and leather goods.

The third is a crafts and economic activities fair, weighted towards handicrafts and locally made goods rather than food or household basics. It runs on an irregular schedule with no confirmed day on record, so it is worth checking locally before you build a morning around it.

Thursday and Saturday are the fullest market days in Fuente-Álamo, with two markets trading on each. The covered Edificio Mercado also opens Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Nothing trades on a Sunday, and the town's crafts fair runs on an irregular schedule rather than a fixed day.
