The food stalls cover fresh fruit and vegetables, fish and seafood, cheese and dairy, bread and bakery, and spices and herbs, with prepared food for eating on the spot. The rest of the 150 pitches sell clothing and textiles, footwear and leather. Nothing here is under cover, so the market is at the weather's mercy.

Staying in City Centre puts you within walking distance of the town's other markets and the seafront, and there is a good range of hotels and apartments there. The Hotel Castell de Mata is a solid choice if you want more comfort, and Barcelona is close enough on the C1 to make Saturday morning a day trip.

The market occupies Carrer de Joaquim Puig i Pidemunt and Carrer de Pablo Iglesias, in the industrial estate that gives it its name, a short way out from Mataró's centre. The town is on the Rodalies C1 line from Barcelona. Mataró town hall's official page lists the city's weekly markets.
