Tomiño Municipal Market

The building was recently renovated and covers two floors. On the ground floor you'll find a fishmonger, two butchers, a bread shop, fruit and vegetable stalls, a delicatessen, a flower stall, and a small bar. Head upstairs for a café, a cakes counter, a pizza stall, and stalls selling preserved vegetables and jams. It's a compact but well-stocked municipal market that covers most daily shopping needs.

Fish and seafood are the standout products, in keeping with Galicia's strong coastal food traditions. The two butchers stock fresh meat and the deli counter carries cold cuts and regional specialities. You'll also find artisan cheeses, nuts, dried fruits, and ready-to-eat prepared foods. On Sunday evenings from 7pm to 11pm, the Praza do Seixo hosts a feirón, a traditional street market with a broader selection of goods.

Tomiño is a small town, so accommodation options are limited locally. Staying in Town Centre puts you closest to the municipal market and within easy reach of the riverside. If you want more choice, the nearby town of A Guarda is worth considering, or you can base yourself across the river in Valença, Portugal, which has a good selection of hotels just a short drive away.

The market is at Praza do Seixo, s/n, 36740 Tomiño, Pontevedra. By car, take the AG-57 or A-55 and follow signs to Tomiño town centre. The building has lift access and a wheelchair-accessible entrance, and it's within walking distance of most of the town.
