Bouzas Street Market

This is a neighbourhood market rather than a tourist attraction: five hours, one morning a week, 25 stalls. The pitch is flat and wheelchair accessible, and dogs are welcome. Stalls take cash and cards. The Vigo tourism office lists it among the city's regular open-air weekly markets.

Clothing and textiles take up most of the 25 pitches, alongside footwear and leather goods, handmade jewellery and handicrafts. It is a clothes and bric-a-brac market, not a farmers market, so there is no fresh produce, fish or hot food here. For food shopping, Vigo's municipal markets are the place to go instead.

Bouzas is a residential district west of the city centre, so most people visiting the market stay in central Vigo and make the short trip out on Sunday morning. Centro has hotels at a range of prices and keeps you within a bus ride of the stalls, and Gran Hotel Nagari Boutique & Spa is the comfortable central choice if you want something smarter.

The address is Rúa de Eduardo Cabello, 70, 36208 Vigo, roughly 10 minutes by car west of the centre along the waterfront. City buses stop in Bouzas within a short walk of the stalls. On-street parking fills up on Sunday mornings, so leaving the car a few streets back is usually quicker than circling.
