Garrucha market means two different things depending on when you turn up. On Friday mornings a 30-stall street market lines the Paseo del Malecón beside the marina from 8am to 2pm. Through June, July and August a night market of around 20 stalls sets up on the seafront every evening from 7pm until midnight. Both trade outdoors, and between them they cover clothing and textiles, footwear and leather, books, flowers and plants, handicrafts and jewellery.

Friday is the busiest day, and in summer the only day both markets trade: the street market from 8am to 2pm, then the night market from 7pm. For the rest of the year, Friday morning is the only market in town.
From June to August the rhythm changes completely. The night market opens every evening of the week, Monday through Sunday, from 7pm until midnight, so a Sunday in July has stalls out on the promenade while a Sunday in November has none.
