Runs nightly from 7pm to midnight in June, July and August only. A small seafront night market with 20 stalls selling handicrafts and jewellery.
Garrucha Night Market sets up along the Paseo Marítimo in Garrucha, on the Almería coast, and it is a summer fixture rather than a year-round one. The 20 stalls open at 7pm and stay out until midnight, every night of the week, through June, July and August. Handicrafts and jewellery are what you come for, browsed with the sea on one side of you.
About Garrucha Night Market
Spanish signs and local listings call it the Mercadillo Nocturno de Garrucha, and French and Dutch guides list the same market as a marché nocturne or an avondmarkt. It is a street market, set up outdoors on the seafront promenade with no indoor hall. Bring cash, since card payment is not confirmed at any of the 20 stalls.
Because it opens at 7pm and runs to midnight, it works as something to do after the beach or after dinner rather than as a morning errand. Outside those three months there is no night market in Garrucha at all.
What you'll find at Garrucha Night Market
The stalls concentrate on handmade goods: jewellery, and artisan handicrafts of the sort you can carry home in hand luggage. With only 20 pitches, a slow lap of the Paseo Marítimo covers the whole market in half an hour, which is why most people treat it as part of an evening stroll rather than a shopping trip in itself.
Where to stay in Garrucha
Garrucha is a small fishing town, so your best bet is staying close to the seafront where most of the action is. Town Centre puts you within easy walking distance of the night market and the harbour.
If you prefer something more specific, Hotel Isleta is a solid option right by the beach, and Apartamentos Bahia Garrucha works well if you want a bit more space during your stay.
