Carquifa Craft Market

Stalls are given over to handicrafts and jewellery, with clothing and textiles alongside them and prepared food sold to eat as you walk. The Spanish name, Feria de Artesanía y Comercio Carquifa, is the honest description: this is a craft and commerce fair rather than a produce market. It is entirely outdoors, and the record lists no facilities of any kind, so treat it as a promenade to walk rather than a place to sit down.

Motril is a small coastal town, so staying central is your best bet for easy access to the Carquifa Craft Market. Try Town Centre for a short walk to the market and plenty of cafés nearby, or Playa de Motril if you would rather be near the beach and a short walk home at 1am.

If you prefer a specific hotel, Hotel Palacete de Alamos is a solid, well-regarded option in town that puts you in a good position for exploring both the market and the surrounding area.

The market runs along Paseo de la Playa de Poniente, by the campsite, which puts it on Motril's Poniente beach rather than in the town centre, so allow time to get down to the coast for a 9pm start. Motril's tourism board publishes the official page.
