Sitges Municipal Market

Everything here trades under one roof, which makes it a reliable stop in bad weather and in the August heat. Access is step-free throughout and there are public toilets on site. Stalls take cash and mobile payments, so a card-only wallet will not get you through every counter.

The fish counters carry Mediterranean catch, which is what most people come in for, and they sit alongside meat and poultry, seasonal fruit and vegetables, local cheese and dairy, and bread and pastries from the bakery stalls. Come in the morning, since the hall closes at 2pm on every day it trades.

Sitges is small enough that most accommodation puts you within easy walking distance of the Municipal Market, so you can head straight there in the morning without any fuss. Staying in Town Centre keeps you close to the market, the beach, and the best cafés for a post-shopping coffee.

If you want something more comfortable, Hotel Romántic is a well-regarded option a few streets from the market, and Hotel Celimar sits right on the seafront just a short stroll away. Either way, you won't need a car.

The market is at Avinguda d'Artur Carbonell, 27, close to Sitges train station. From Barcelona, take the R2 Sud line directly to Sitges and it's around a 10-minute walk through the town centre.
