O Grove Street Market

The market runs once a week, on Friday mornings only. Everything is outdoors on Avenida de Beiramar, with no indoor hall and no roof over the stalls, so the weather makes a real difference to how long you will want to spend there. Five hours is the whole window, from nine in the morning until two in the afternoon, and traders tend to start breaking down their tables before the last of that. Stalls sell clothing and textiles, footwear and leather goods, handicrafts, and books and magazines. That mix makes it a browsing market: rails of shirts and jackets, boxes of shoes in stacked sizes, belts and bags, and craft stalls worth a slower look.

Staying in the town centre puts you within a short walk of Avenida de Beiramar. Town Centre is the easiest base, with guesthouses and small hotels close together.

For sea views, look along the waterfront. Hotel Maruxia and Hotel Bosque Mar both keep you within reach of Friday morning.

The address is Av. de Beiramar, 4, 36989 O Grove, on the waterfront side of town and walkable from most of the centre. There is parking, though it is worth arriving nearer nine than midday if you want a space close to the stalls. Turismo de Galicia lists the market among the area's traditional ones.
