Runs daily from 11am to midnight in June, July and August, with 75 stalls of handicrafts, jewellery and clothing along the Paseo de Portonovo.

Portonovo Summer Market is an open-air market on the Paseo de Portonovo in Sanxenxo, and it does not run all year. The stalls set up daily through June, July and August, from 11am until midnight, then the seafront goes back to being an ordinary promenade for the other nine months. With 75 stalls and a finish that late, it works as an after-dinner walk as much as a morning shop.

What you'll find at Portonovo Summer Market

Handicrafts, handmade jewellery, and clothing and textiles are the three things the 75 stalls sell, so this is a market for artisan pieces rather than fruit, fish or household goods. Everything is outdoors along the promenade, and because the traders are here for a three-month season rather than one morning a week, the stalls are set up properly rather than run off a trestle.

Where to stay in Sanxenxo

Staying in Portonovo puts you right on the doorstep of the summer market, with the beach and seafront just a short walk away. For something a little more central to the wider area, Sanxenxo town centre has plenty of options and is easy to reach by car or on foot along the coast road.

If you want a reliable mid-range pick, Hotel Rotilio is a solid choice with a good location for exploring both Portonovo and Sanxenxo itself.

What day is Portonovo Summer Market?

Portonovo Summer Market runs every day of the week, Monday to Sunday, from 11am until midnight. The late finish makes it an evening market as much as a daytime one, and the 75 stalls stay open right through the afternoon rather than packing away at lunchtime.

What months does Portonovo Summer Market run?

Portonovo Summer Market runs in June, July and August only. Outside those three months the stalls do not set up, so a visit in May or September will find the Paseo de Portonovo empty. Within the season it trades every day, from 11am to midnight.

Where is Portonovo Summer Market?

Portonovo Summer Market sets up along the Paseo de Portonovo and Calle Rafael Picó, 36979 Sanxenxo, in the province of Pontevedra. It is an outdoor market, so the 75 stalls line the seafront promenade rather than sitting in a hall, and they trade daily from 11am to midnight in summer.
