Benissa market life is compact but well worth seeking out. The town runs three markets in total: an indoor municipal food hall, a weekly outdoor street market with around 30 stalls, and the smaller Mercat dels Porxes artisan market held on the second Saturday of each month. Where to stay in Benissa
Benissa is a small town, so your best bet is to stay close to the old town centre, where you can walk to the weekly market and explore the historic streets without needing a car. Benissa Old Town puts you right in the middle of things and keeps the whole town within easy reach.
If you prefer a bit more comfort or want to be closer to the coast, the area around Benissa Costa is just a short drive away and has plenty of accommodation options with easy access back into town on market day.

The Benissa Municipal Market is an indoor hall with around 10 stalls open Monday to Saturday. Traders here cover the everyday essentials: fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and poultry, fish and seafood, and cheese and dairy. It is a reliable stop for fresh produce if you are staying in the area and want to cook locally.
Street markets in Benissa
The Benissa Street Market runs every Saturday from 8am to 1:30pm along Carrer Hort de Bordes and Carrer San Nicolás, with around 30 stalls selling fresh fruit, flowers and plants, clothing, footwear, and handicrafts. It is the largest market in town and the one most visitors come for.
The Mercat dels Porxes is a smaller outdoor market held on the second Saturday of each month, running 9am to 2pm and not held in July or August. It focuses on organic produce, fresh vegetables, cheese and dairy, and bread and pastries, making it the better stop for artisan and eco food finds in Benissa.

Saturday morning is the most rewarding time to visit, with the street market and municipal hall within easy walking distance of each other in the old town. Benissa sits in the Alicante province of the Marina Alta, midway along the Costa Blanca, so it is easy to combine with a market day in Calpe or Xàbia, which hold markets on other days.
