Runs every Wednesday from 8am to 2pm with 250 stalls. La Mata's largest weekly market for clothing, footwear and leather.
La Mata Weekly Market sets up every Wednesday from 8am to 2pm along Canal del Acequión and the avenues behind the beach, in the La Mata district of Torrevieja. With 250 stalls it is the area's biggest weekly street market, and the largest of all the markets in La Mata. Clothing, textiles, footwear and leather goods take up most of the pitches.
What you'll find at La Mata Weekly Market
The 250 stalls run to two things above all: clothing and textiles, and footwear and leather. That covers everyday men's, women's and children's wear, fabrics and home textiles, shoes, belts and bags. For the other regular pitches in town, see the street markets in La Mata.
Where to stay in La Mata
Staying near the beach puts you a short walk from the Wednesday pitches. La Mata Beachfront is the most convenient base, with apartments and small hotels close to the avenues the market uses. If you want a wider choice of rooms, Torrevieja Town Centre is a short drive away and puts the markets in both towns within reach.

Where is La Mata Weekly Market?
La Mata Weekly Market sets up on Canal del Acequión and along Avenida de Francia, Avenida de Los Holandeses and Avenida de Los Suecos, in La Mata, a coastal district of Torrevieja in Alicante province. The stalls occupy the avenues themselves, a few streets in from the beach.
What can you buy at La Mata Weekly Market?
Clothing, textiles, footwear and leather goods are what the 250 stalls at La Mata Weekly Market sell. That means everyday clothing for men, women and children, dress fabrics and home textiles, and shoes, bags and belts. It is a general street market, so there is no food hall or fresh produce section here.
Does La Mata Weekly Market take cards?
Card acceptance at La Mata Weekly Market is not confirmed, so carry cash. Traders at an open-air market set their own payment terms, and with 250 independent stalls spread across four avenues there is no single answer. Small notes and coins are the safest thing to arrive with.
