Villajoyosa Street Market

One side of the market focuses on fresh fruit and vegetables from local farms, while the other carries clothing, textiles and leather bags, belts and shoes. Leather goods are a real speciality here, with prices well below what you'd pay in shops. You won't find fresh meat or fish, but for everything else the mercadillo has you covered.

Staying in the Town Centre puts you within easy walking distance of the street market, and you'll find plenty of small hotels and apartments along the seafront to choose from. The Beachfront is a great option too, especially if you want to combine the market with a day by the water.

For something comfortable and central, Hotel Montíboli is a well-known option just outside town with good transport links back to the centre. Booking early is worth it, as accommodation in Villajoyosa fills up quickly during the summer months.

The market runs along C. Carles Llorca i Baus, a short walk from the Creueta tram stop on the Tramvia line 1 between Alicante and Benidorm. By car, head to the town centre and look for street parking nearby, though spaces fill up quickly on Thursdays. The central location makes it easy to combine with a visit to the other street markets in Villajoyosa.
